Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1½ cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions
Step 1:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until soft.
Step 2:
Add garlic, paprika, and chili flakes. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 3:
Stir in crushed tomatoes, broth, and orzo. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Step 4:
Cook uncovered for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender.
Step 5:
Add shrimp and cook for 3–4 minutes until pink and cooked through.
Step 6:
Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 7:
Remove from heat and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
