Ingredients
- 1 lb potato gnocchi
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1½ cups crushed tomatoes or tomato purée
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream or cooking cream
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
Directions
Step 1:
Cook gnocchi according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2:
Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until soft and translucent.
Step 3:
Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 4:
Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and chili flakes. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.
Step 5:
Lower heat and mix in cream and Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
Step 6:
Add cooked gnocchi and gently toss to coat evenly. Cook for 2–3 minutes.
Step 7:
Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.
