Korean Spicy Pork Bulgogi Stir Fry

2 tbsp vegetable oil we love rice bran oil

pork 1.1 lb, shoulder, loin or pork belly, sliced thin

1 onion sliced into half moons

1 carrot julienned

1 spring onion / green onion sliced, for garnish

½ tbsp sesame seeds for garnish

For the stir fry seasoning sauce

2 tbsp sugar sub honey or maple syrup

1 tbsp gochugaru

2 tbsp gochujang

2-3 garlic chopped

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tsp miso paste or oyster sauce, optional

½ tbsp sesame oil

Instructions

  • Mix together all your stir fry seasoning ingredients: sugar, gochugaru, gochujang, garlic, soy sauce, miso paste and sesame oil.

  • Heat up your wok or cast iron pan, add in your vegetable oil then stir fry the pork until browned.

  • Add your onion and carrot next and stir fry for a few minutes until cooked.

  • Reduce heat, pour in the seasoning sauce, mix until coated and serve with rice or your favorite Korean banchanOptional: Garnish with spring onion / green onion and sesame seeds.
