2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries (or mixed berries)
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
1 clove garlic (lightly smashed)
Simmer everything together for 7-10 minutes. Place in jar and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before using.
Cookies Dessert
Turkish Shortbread Cookies
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
2 cups flour
1 cup powder sugar divided in half
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon baking powder
4 ounces of Toffee pieces or chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a medium sized mixing bowl, cream ½ cup of powder sugar, butter and vanilla
Sift flour and baking powder slowly add to the creamed butter. Add toffee or cholate chips. Mix well with a spoon.
Once thoroughly combined, roll a teaspoon full of dough into balls. Place the balls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper
Bake for 15-20 minutes. They should be cooked through, firm but remain pale.
Dust the cookies with powder sugar right when they come out of the oven. Dust again just before serving.
